Bay Area 6: An Unexpected Adventure

Remember those photos at the wedding? Hard to believe that only a few hours later we were sitting at the ER of Oakland Children's Hospital, wondering why Jackson seemed to be having some trouble breathing (it didn't seem to get in the way of his singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" all the way to the ER, however - to his mother's relief). It was never clear exactly what caused this brief episode, but we ended up in the hospital for a day and a half while we tried to figure it all out. As you can see, Jackson took to it quite well, as did we, with the help of our WONDERFUL friends and family. Thank you all so much!

Sara Kershnar and Jackson: She and Alan not only hosted us during our extended stay but delivered massive amounts of incredible food, toys, and entertainment to our hospital room.

Jackson enjoys the view (and a nibble on a balloon string) from his room: we were lucky and got a view of a contruction site, complete with (Jackson's favorite thing these days, though he would probably correct me if he could read this, and refine the term as "backhoe loaders."). Fine. Backhoe loaders.

Matthew visited many times, once bringing our favorite Intermezzo salads. You rule, Matthew.
