Bye, Bye, Magpie
BYE, BYE, MAGPIE
Come the last weekend of every July,
The good people gather for another Magpie.
They spread out their blankets on that epic front lawn
And listen to music until nearly dawn.
Now that Megan and Brendan are headed for Spain
It's Sierraville's loss and the E.U's gain.
Until the Meschery-McCormacks come back again
There won't be another Magpie 'til 2010.
So vaya con dios, and don't forget to write
We'll see you some other dark, starry night.
As you settle down in the original Sierra Nevada
Just remember: there ain't no hot springs in dusty Granada.
Buuck shows Magpie first-timer Rachel the ropes.
Jackson LOVES the poetry reading!
The visual art component of the Magpie Festival.
Ruthie and Uncle Danny love poetry, too!
M.C. and Master of Sound Matthew assists Magpie's littlest performers, who rocked the joint with something they call, "French Folk Song."
Below, Dan (pith helmet) and Guthrie bring some East Bay attitude to the mix. If you're unsure what this means, go to www.fearthebeard.org to find out.
More Magpie flavor.
