Magpie Festival 2006: Part I - Salmon Lake

We headed out to the Sierras the last weekend in July to make the scene at Megan Meschery and Brendan McCormack's annual Magpie Festival of the Arts. No Magpie Weekend would be complete without a little alpine swimming, and our first stop was the lovely Salmon Lake, nestled in the Sierra Buttes near Sierra City. Okay, that's enough sierras. A bunch of our Bay Area pals convoyed up there in their cool hybrid cars, including Guthrie and his son, Griffin, who are pictured here wearing the wonderful shirts Guth designed. Behind Ben, you can see Eleese and Christina on a raft run between beach and the big diving rocks. Ah, summer.
